"These are the pieces of my youth, The small secrets and not-so-great expectations that defined my coming of age. But through this craft, through my love for writing, I discovered a world outside of the small windowless one I had built for myself. A world of soft-spoken beauty." daniel armand lee

I take everything day by day, I go with the flow; I let God take care of me. I'm blessed, and I'm happy.

To Be Vulnerable…

is to be able to open up and accept defeat, accept someone into your heart. To be vulnerable is to embrace your past, your present and your future.

Today, I went to the Ladies Small Group at church. I don’t want to elaborate on religion, since religion is a sensitive topic and people choose what they believe. However, during our session, we talked about sin, about Adam and Eve and what sin truly was.

Sin is what we believe.

When we choose to believe certain things that we know is certainly wrong, when we choose to do things that are against what we are originally taught – that is sin. Sin is the source of our denials and lies. Sin is the reflection of what makes us stronger.

At the end of the session, we got into pairs and talked about the sin within our lives.

We were asked to be vulnerable.

Throughout my life I have had trouble being vulnerable. I have had trouble opening up and spilling it out to another. So, instead, I have done many things I’m not proud of, hurt those that cared for me and lost some valuable relationships.

However, since accepting Christ back into my life again – vulnerability has become something that comes natural to me.

But what was fascinating about today was, after giving my testimony, by friend’s testimony was a reflection of my past. There are details that are obviously different – but the pain, the emotions, the feelings – she could relate to me on the same level.

I used to think that no one would ever understand me. No one could be in the same situation as me. Obviously I was wrong.

It was so great to be able to open up and connect our pasts together. It was refreshing to talk about our troubles, our mistakes and how both of us are trying our hardest to start anew and try to fill the voids and strains within our lives. But I think what’s most valuable is both of us seeing the different Christ has made within our lives.

Ultimately, I just want others to know that – YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There is someone out there that is going through the same thing, that hold the same emotions as you do, and who understand you. Don’t think that it will never get better, it DOES GET BETTER.

Trust me. I am an example of perseverance and rising against. Countlessly I thought I would not make it through, numerous times I tried leaving this life – but in the end, I realized that our lives are gifts.

We cannot just end it without putting up a fight.

We got to fight, fight with all our might.
We got to be strong, and never give up.
We got to believe that, at the end of the darken roadthere is light, there is hope.

Believe it, you will overcome.

Life puts obstacles so that we can overcome the ultimate test. Once we overcome, we will be able to overcome ourselves and find a reason to live.

Remember, tomorrow is never promised. Today is not a guarantee. We only have this moment. So grasp the moment and fight for the happiness you deserve.

BUT God is rich in mercy. His grace is sufficient.

Unbelievable.

So much empowerment at church today. I NEED to share it to all my followers of Christ. We had a special guest today. Pastor Lennett Anderson came to preach today about being alive.

He based his sermon on Ephesians 2:2-10:

As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins,in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh[a] and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature deserving of wrath. But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”

We were made for this life. We cannot just exist, we need to live life. There is more to life and everyday has its purpose.  Life is not what it brings you, but what you bring to life.

You see, life is a process. There is a BEFORE and there is an AFTER. BEFORE is our selfishness and sins and the AFTER is His righteousness. He raised us up to His glory, and up is where we shall stay.

We have to be in Christ and we shall put our lives in His hands. With him, anything can be accomplished. Our past is our guilt, our present is grace and our future is glory.

So live life to the fullest. We all came from something and we are all here because of His mercy. We are His workmanship and we shall walk in His road that He has provided us.

Our life is God’s gift, and our gift to God is the value of our life.

Live. Cause we are here for a reason

Live to Inspire. Inspire to Live.

I believe that life is shaped by those around us. The good, the bad, the ugly, the not-so-great - we are touched by all those and inspired to be a mix of all those things. Inspiration honestly comes from anything. We can be inspired at times we don’t even expect it. We can inspire others even without us knowing. Whatever is, inspiration plays a constant circle within our lives.

I have been inspired by so many in my lifetime. And it is this inspiration that has made me a better person. Whether it be Christ, or may it be my friends, they all inspire me.

Don’t think that finding inspiration is hard. It isn’t. It just takes an open mind to realize that, we are constantly inspired. It might not seem or feel like it, but we are often inspired by the smallest of things, the deepest of thoughts and the unexpectedness of a person’s actions and words.

Inspiration is there. You just have to see it.
Inspiration is in you. You just don’t know it.

The School of L-I-F-E.

Our ultimate goal in life is to gain an education. To have that degree and knowledge that will catapult us through towards a good paying job and the desired life we have always seen for ourselves. But, if you think deeper, the real school that we attend everyday, 365 days, every moment and every second is LIFE.

It’s a big university, a campus that reaches beyond borders and worlds. It’s a school where we learn the basics of living and survival, a place where we experience all the emotions and struggles we face and is the foundation of which we learn and overcome.

This school we attend is free. There are teachers - but no syllabus. It isn’t a piece of paper that we follow, or a textbook that we read - it is a lifestyle.

We choose the roads around the campus. We choose how to walk the campus. We choose how to learn.

Life, ultimately, is the biggest education in life. Cause above the degree, the money, the salary and accomplished dreams - in the end, it is what we’ve learned from life that will get us there.

REMEMBER THAT.
